To: Président de la commission d’étude sur le laserponcture

Dear Sir,

I would like to share with you my daughter’s experience, Hrafnhildur Thoroddsen, with laserponcture.

My daughter had a serious car accident in 1989 which left her paraplegic. The damage in her spinal cord extended from T10 to L4 with a loss substance. After a nerve transfer done by Dr Shaocheng Zhang, which consisted of a calf nerve implanted between two nerve roots, we went to France. I noticed the following improvements during our two stays in 2001:

- Her balance improved very much;

- She got more power in her legs;

- Her legs grew thicker (centimetres);

- She got more sensoric;

- She started to bike and walk on a treadmill.

A documentary of my daughter’s history was recently made which I can forward to you.

For your reference, I am a head nurse at the General hospital in Reykjavik. In 2001 I organised a meeting on new and emerging therapies for spinal cord injuries sponsored by the Icelandic Health Ministry and the World Health Organisation (WHO). Mr Bohbot took part and his works were cited in the media (press and tv). Also I am currently the President of a database on SCI therapies as part of the World Health Organization.

I believe that Mr Bohbot gives so much hope to people suffering from a spinal cord injury.

Sincerely,

Audur Gudjonsdottir
